Global Market Focus

Since its conception, CTJ traced the objective of globalizing the company and promoting the exportable services that our integrated departments offer. To reach this objective, CTJ created a Globalization Strategy which has been successfully executed throughout the years. This strategy has adapted based on the analysis of our results, and has been revamped in 2014 as a consequence of the upcoming World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) 2014 which will be held in our home turf, Guadalajara, Mexico. As part of this renewal in the Globalization Strategy, CTJ has created CTJ Global, a new segment of the company that seeks to accelerate CTJ’s global presence with the aid of specialized staff that is highly skilled in International Business.

Trade Missions

Guadalajara’s Software Center, the largest hub of IT firms in Latin America operating under one roof and home to CTJ´s headquarters, has hosted in recent years several representatives from leading IT companies, as well as various government officials from the USA and other parts of the world. CTJ has taken advantage of these visits, establishing business relationships with companies in Chicago, Boston, Salt Lake City, San Jose, Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Edmonton. We have also reciprocated visits to some of these locations to further solidify our business relationship with our clients.

CTJ was also invited to participate in the Utah Trade Mission to Guadalajara led by Utah´s governor Gary Herbert, that brought representatives from various trade chambers and companies seeking to establish business relationships in Mexico. This Trade Mission allowed us to generate new business opportunities in a region that we had not contemplated in the past, but that has proven to be a very productive market.

Following the success attained by hosting trade missions, CTJ decided to take this one step further by being part of the travelling delegation of various Trade Missions, as well as visiting target markets with the aim of establishing new business relationships.

2014 Trade Missions

This year, CTJ participated in ProMexico’s Trade Mission to London, Dublin and Helsinki in April. The purpose of this mission was to promote Mexico’s IT industry and develop business opportunities among the participating companies. We obtained the following results:

  • We established a relationship with TYECA, a Swedish company that provides comprehensive IT solutions, with the goal of creating a Bilateral Trade Agreement between Mexico and Sweden. This Trade Agreement would provide incentives for companies to engage in business between the countries by offering funding, and relaxed tax and regulatory barriers. We are currently working with ProMexico to promote this initiative with Mexican authorities, while our counterparts in TYECA are in contact with Swedish authorities. We are also establishing a product and services matrix that can be used as a guide for interested companies in each region to find a company that provides the products and services they are looking for.

  • In Dublin, we met the Honorable Allen Sangines-Krausse, a distinguished businessman in Ireland and member of the executive committee of the Millcom Group (an innovation project accelerator company), who was very interested in the various innovation projects under development in CTJ. We have sent an executive summary of 4 innovation projects which are under review by the members of the Millicom Group, to define which projects they would like to fund and support.

CTJ also participated in the Pacific Alliance Macro-Round in Puerto Vallarta held this past June, which brought buyers and exporters from Chile, Colombia, Peru and Mexico together to promote their products and services and close business agreements. We met Conexión Emocional, a Colombian Marketing company that seeks to become the official representative of CTJ´s offer in Colombia. Conexión Emocional has identified a group of target companies by industry that would benefit from the services offered by CTJ. We are in the process of establishing a list of products and services to offer to these potential clients, as well as defining a set of standard operating procedures for Conexión Emocional to follow, thus guaranteeing our quality standard abroad.

Finally, we visited the Sister Cities Organization in San Jose, California, where we had the opportunity of presenting our E-Government Solutions. Sister Cities was very impressed with the breath of our government and citizen participation solutions that we currently offer. Something that set us apart from other E-government providers was the breadth of experience and success stories we have under our belt, having worked closely with several State governments in Mexico.

Our next steps in our globalization strategy involve a series of Trade Missions to strategic destinations spanning from September 2014 to April 2015. These Trade Missions will include destinations in California, Texas, Massachusetts, Utah, Nevada and South America. The Trade Missions will include a Business Seminar that will bring together local Trade Chambers representatives, Mexican Embassy and local ProMexico representatives, as well as prospected clients in each region. Stay posted for the finalized schedule of our Trade Missions so you can be a part of this great business opportunity.

International Projects

CTJ is currently working on a project with Genesis Networks, a San Antonio based Telecommunications provider, providing human capital for their IT recruitment department, and coordinating the opening of their Guadalajara site, which is targeting the staffing of over 100 employees.

The Business Software Department is currently working with Logiscient, a software and technological applications provider for the oil industry, developing technological platforms for the administration of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) information of Oil companies. We were also responsible for the development of the current Logiscient Website.

Our Web Solutions Department has worked with Splice Software, a Canadian based personalized voice solutions company, since March 2013. The project consists of a digital console that allows for the real-time analysis of the information generated through the Splice Software, in order to generate active marketing (information sent via SMS, voice mails, Emails). This information is displayed through visual graphics and controls, allowing for a more efficient and agile decision making process. The original project was completed in April 2014, but due to the greatly satisfactory results, the client has now asked for the development of other platforms to complement their Website.

We are in the final stages of closing the deal with Web.com, a website builder aimed to small/medium companies, who requires a partner company to help them develop websites for their hispanic market. The project would involve the production of 800 Websites per month, for which we would allocate 10 resources to be dedicated to the success of these developments. Over the course of 3 months of conversations and negotiations, we have defined the project deadlines, costs, and requirement elicitation.

With regards to Augmented Reality, we completed a project for Hewlett Packard which needed an innovative component for clients to interact with their brand and new product lineup. We developed a Mobile Application with integrated Augmented Reality which was complemented with a platform for consulting the results regarding the application (statistics, number of downloads, location where app was downloaded, for which platform was it downloaded: Android or iOS). HP was surprised to find out that creating an innovative way of displaying their new product lineup, as well as reinforce the sales team’s ability to create excitement among customers, did not require a heavy investment on their part. The complementary platform provided real-time data regarding the effectiveness of the Augmented Reality application in different parts of the world. HP was very satisfied with the results, opening the door for future collaborations. We also recently worked with Smith Brothers, a Chicago based company, which required the development of a corporate application with integrated Augmented Reality that could satisfy their new Branding and Marketing goals.

In the Digital Media realm, we have also successfully delivered our services in over 20 countries in three continents including USA, Canada, Argentina, Venezuela, China, Portugal, Spain, England, Belgium, among others. Our client list for Digital Media projects includes: Intel, MTV, Technology North Canada, Volvo, New Balance and Sheraton Hotels & Resorts.

Thanks to our involvement in the Utah Trade Mission, we were able to be introduced with Zylun, an IT staffing company that has been looking for a Nearshore staffing partner for their USA clients. We have sent a proposal which is pending approval. Another great opportunity that arouse from this Trade Mission was a contact with Reserveacourt.com, where we are working to develop new complements for their reservation site and mobile application.

Recently we have tried to promote our comprehensive justice solution, Security and Justice Third Millennium (SJ3K), which has various modules for justice administration, law enforcement, criminal re-adaptation and social reintegration. We have met with representatives from Cisco in order to discuss an infrastructure partnership. We are also in meetings with the Muscogee Tribe to discuss a funding agreement for the acceleration of the implementation of the system in Mexico, and other Latin American countries.
